Choose Quote while you are still pricing the board, the rewire or the remedials, and the customer has not agreed. Switch those same lines to Invoice when the test is done and you want paying. The PDF heading follows that choice. The rows stay in the order you typed them.
On electrical work, tick Add VAT only when you are VAT registered and the rates for the board, the labour and the certificate are net. The PDF then adds 20% on top and shows net, VAT and the total. Leave it off if you are not registered, or if the figure you typed is already what they will pay. Ticking it on a VAT-inclusive price charges them twice. Your document is not stored.

- Is the electrician quote generator free?
- Yes. A UK electrician can build a quote or an invoice, add as many lines as the job needs, and download the PDF with no account and no limit. Your document is not stored.
- How should an electrician show VAT on a board change?
- If you are VAT registered, type the net rate for the consumer unit, the labour and the certificate, then tick Add VAT. The PDF adds 20% on top. If you are not registered, leave the box off and the total is the sum of the lines.
- Is an electrical price a quote or an estimate before the covers come off?
- If you have seen the board and will stand behind the figure, send it as a quote. If the remedials depend on what is behind the covers, say so and price those lines after the inspection. This form will produce either heading. It will not decide which word is honest.
- Should the EICR sit on the same paper as the remedials?
- Put the test and the report on their own line. Add remedials only when you know them. A single line called EICR and fix hides the work the customer has not agreed yet.
